A total of 6 races were completed and at the prize giving ceremony last night were three Danish crews as winners. DEN 199 with Lucas Lier, Emil Max Møller and Konrad Floryan were announced the European Youth Champions. DEN 207 from the hosting sailing club, Marselisborg, came in second, and DEN 4 from DKY came in third. Congratulations to the winners, and thank you to all 10 youth crews for participating.
Today the Yngling Open European Championship starts. Nine out of the ten youth crews are participating again, and there are 33 participating boats. Some of the favorites to win are NED 355, GER 1, SUI 458 and the two Danish boats, DEN 64 and DEN 199. The wind is fine for racing, but now it is less sunny, with frequent showers, and it seems like the Danish summer is likely to continue this way. Tough competition is expected on the water, and everybody is looking forward to the first races today.
Todays three races went well and the Dutch crew, NED 336 is number 1, followed by DEN 199 with the Danish youth winners from yesterday.
Together with yesterdays prize giving ceremony for the youth competitors, the official Opening Ceremony for the Yngling European Championship was announced. There was a good atmosphere amongst the participants, and the Austrian participants were celebrating the occasion wearing their fine national clothes under the Ceremony.
